Identity, arts, diaspora, and the role of culturally responsive education in shaping who we become.
Education Futures
Education systems weren't designed for the students they now serve. My graduate research at SOAS examined how globalization, post-colonial education, and media converge to silence youth identity — and how culturally responsive, Freirian pedagogies offer a path to liberation. Identity-centered design isn't a supplement to education. It's the foundation.
Arts & Diaspora
In 2025, I co-sponsored 10 Artists in Residence at Carifesta XV in Barbados, organized by the Artists Alliance of Barbados. This residency created space for artists across the African Diaspora to collaborate, create, and explore the intersections of cultural identity, place, and artistic practice — reaffirming the arts as a force for healing, memory, and transnational solidarity.
Cultural Practice
A social learning and leading practice engaging communities across the African Diaspora about identity, art, and cultural legacies. The Diascope reimagines how diasporic knowledge is shared, preserved, and activated across borders — centering the wisdom that lives in community, not just in institutions.
